Who wants to pay 10.25% SALES TAX? The county is planning the increase this November – just in time for the holiday shopping season. This will make our sales tax the highest rate in the country. Out of principal, I am committed to no longer shopping in Cook County which is sad for all the businesses that will suffer as a result of the increase. This is classic case of Taxation without Representation. None of the Cook County Board members asked the people about how they fell about the increase. Maybe we should hold a tea party on Lake Michigan.
